BIO
Zsolt Roland Lisztmayer, known professionally as Sholti, was born in 1994 in Tata, Hungary, and is currently based in Munich, Germany. As a contemporary collage artist, Sholti has gained recognition for his distinctive medium of collage glued on canvas, utilizing various papers from magazines, newspapers, and books. His artistic process involves cutting these materials into numerous tiny pieces and meticulously assembling them into intricate mosaic-like compositions. This painstaking work demands precision, attention to detail, and a significant investment of time. Sholti is best known for his futuristic-looking portraits, characterized by vibrant neon colors. The compositions often evoke the atmosphere of lively urban nightlife, leaving a psychedelic impression on viewers caught between euphoria and depression, psychosis and clarity of mind, reality and imagination, chaos and order. His works entice viewers to scrutinize each snippet, revealing a harmonious connection both in terms of color and content. Meticulously selecting materials from diverse fields such as psychology, philosophy, biography, pop culture, astronomy, astrology, natural sciences, and esotericism, Sholti creates art that transcends temporal boundaries.
Sholti's artistic pursuits encompass the distinguished series "RE:BORN”, a homage to departed legends. Within this collection, he envisions these iconic figures bathed in luminous neon tones, surpassing the vibrancy experienced in their earthly existence, capturing their essence through a fusion of futuristic and traditional tribal aesthetics. "RE:BORN" seeks to forge a timeless synthesis of the past and future, underscoring the enduring qualities of human character and narratives. Each composition in the series is complemented by an immersive audio-visual experience accessible through a QR code, breathing life into the characters and immersing the audience in a captivating and therapeutic narrative. Sholti's overarching artistic objective revolves around provoking contemplation, activating intellectual engagement, and offering a haven that exerts a therapeutic influence on the viewer, granting respite from psychological burdens.
Sholti has submitted his works to several prestigious art fairs for the year 2024, positioning himself as an emerging artist. Updates and detailed information will be published here.
